this is an interesting piece by Caitlyn Shelton entitled, “State-by-state teacher shortages (and what they’re doing about it).  It provides a short description of the state’s awareness of shortages and some insight into initiatives or policy direction taken to remedy teacher shortages.  There are also several reference points for state and national data regarding shortages across the country.
